The Nine of Coins (Pentacles) card portrays a mature woman walking through a vineyard. The woman has a calm and composed look about her.

She wears a golden yellow robe that has motifs of flowering plants – all these speak of her aristocratic background, upbringing and refined taste. The vines are in full bloom which also indicates material abundance.

The nine golden coins around her are symbols that she has successfully accomplished her desires. In the background a large house can be seen which is presumed to be the lady’s house – this accentuates her comfortable and secured state of being.

A falcon sits calmly on her left hand – this indicates her intellectual and spiritual self control and the fact that she is blissfully engrossed in her own world. Across her path, near her feel, a snail denoted by a blue shell, is seen – however, the lady is too preoccupied to be aware of that. The card portrays a general sense of contentment and peace.

Upright Position: In a reading this card indicates financial independence and opulence. The subject is not ready to enjoy the fruits of hard work. She/he is self sufficient. In some cases, this card may indicate chances of a luxurious travel opportunity. Sometimes this card also brings news of a new home.

Reversed Position: When reversed, the card indicates excess expenditure. It may also indicate that the person is not satisfied with the current situation although there is no financial problem as such – emotional security may be lacking. It may also say that the person is dependent on someone for financial support.
