The Nine of Wands card portrays an exhausted and injured man standing with a wand in his hand. His posture is of that of final defense - as if he is ready to strike at the slightest provocation.
Also the body language suggests that the man stands firm for what he believes in. There are eight more wands behind him that appear like a wall around him. The man has fought his battle and he has won. The process has drained all his energy.
However, he is ready to face a combat again if required. He is determined to reach his final destination by overcoming every challenge that may come in his way and see the light of victory.
Upright Position: This card predicts that the subject is about to reach the point of final destination after tackling all the challenges that life had thrown in the way. However there may be just one last minute setback. But the seeker should hold on to faith and enthusiasm. No matter how exhausting the process may have been, the subject should hold the forte to accomplish what she/he had set out for. The card may also suggest that the subject should choose a path that is less prone to risks.
Reversed Position: Reversed, the card suggests a hesitation for long term commitment. It also says that the subject is perhaps living life on an edge and is very defensive of her/his actions and decisions. The seeker has probably created a wall around her/himself and now that is preventing her/him from reaching out to others leading to a suffocated feeling.
