Christmas is the time when we decorate every thing we get at hand. Homes, trees, gardens, yourselves and not to leave out our pets. We shop for apparels, edibles, centerpieces, furniture and jewelry all year round, but our homes get a new lease of life during the festive season primarily this being the holiday season when we are blessed with ample amount of time to experiment and innovate, so why not try your hands at Christmas decorations at home.
Nobody would like to flaunt a shabby home during the Thanksgiving dinner, so why not rack our brains a little and make it more presentable and inviting. As far as redefining the home decor is concerned, most of us confine ourselves to new upholstery or a new tablecloth cause most of us presume that a complete makeover would cost a fortune. But this is an erroneous assumption as not endless cash but a little thought is what is required to spell a difference.
Certain traditional stuffs like stockings, vintage stars, trinkets, Victorian bells, scented candles that are identified, as holiday traditions usually remain confined to the showcases. Bring them out and create a themed effect on your center table. Bring out the craft book your grand mom gifted to you last year and sift through the pages for suitable crafts that you can try your hands on. Get the children involved and let them furnish their own opinions regarding the arrangement of furniture, the polishing of the brass items, reframing the pictures on to handmade frames.
If you have a fetish for store items, grab some dinner table nameplates, a glass chandelier, a few vintage candle stands and make the most out of them by positioning them in places where they would look the best.
