Silent Night is regarded as the most famous carol in the history of Christmas carols. The carol was actually a poem written by an Austrian priest Joseph Mohr . It is believed that the melody for the poem Silent Night was composed in mind and it truly evokes the true spirit of Christmas hidden within the lyrical contents. This is a popular Christmas carol and during the yuletide days are performed in Sunday schools, churches and even at Christmas pageant shows.
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "
