Attention everyone!!! Easter day will be celebrated
on 12th April on Sunday in the coming year 2009.
Although there is some discrepancy. Catholic and
protestant churches have set 12th April and Eastern
orthodox churches are saying 19th April is date
for Easter celebrations. From year to year, Easter
date keeps changing. Its never fixed.
Easter also called the 'ascension of God' or
'resurrection of God', is a pagan festival. Its
a very sacred day for Christians worldwide. The
day coincides with the advent of spring time and
harbingers the aura of festivities and fill the
world with joyous hues. Like any other year, 2009
Easter Day, too will herald good times and bring
smile on everyone's face. The word 'Easter' is
named after Eastre, the Anglo- Saxon
goddess of spring.
Like any other year, Spring season will coincide
with Easter Day 2009 and the whole scenery
will be beautified with colors and fragrance of
blossoming flowers. The festivity and merriment
of 2009 Easter Day will be magnetic. Once again
Easter egg hunt will take place. Children will
come together and search for colored eggs around
their houses. Prize money will be given to a child
who will find the maximum eggs. Easter bunny or
in old times called Easter Hare will
pamper little kids. They will wake up early on
Easter morning and find out Easter Bunny's gift
baskets of candy at their doorsteps. Easter Eggs
and Rabbit for centuries are the important part
of Easter celebrations. Easter rabbit is a symbol
of fertility. Centuries ago, customary egg-hunt
began with a general belief that rabbits laid
eggs in the grass. Romans believed that All
life comes from an egg. Christians consider
eggs the seed of life and are symbolic
of resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Easter eggs are dyed or colored and decorated
to mark the arrival of spring festivals. This
practice is observed since the ancient times in
Greece, Egypt, Rome and Persia. These Easter colored
eggs are given as gifts to dear ones and little
kids at home.
