Attractions in Paris

The very name, "Paris" is derived from the Gallic Parisi tribe and it was put into use since the days of the Roman Empire. The place is also fashioned as the City of Lights, on account of its early adoption of street lighting. Paris is located on the northern fraction of the Seine River and comprises the islands of St. Louis and Il de la Cite. Most of the sights of this city are dotted along the riverbanks and each is distinguished by its uniqueness.

For instance the memorials, museums and the twin islands attract visitors incredibly and mere rambling on the premises is itself a rewarding experience. 123New Year is here to stay with all that you need to know about attractions in Paris. Romance is another word for Paris and one visit here is hardly enough. Although summers are sunny in Paris, they can be extremely warm too. The best time to visit Paris is late spring or fall. One of the must-sees are the Champs-Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. The latter is the focus of 12 boulevards that diverge in different directions. As you leave and begin a stroll along the Champs-Elysees, you'll come across boutiques and showrooms that have everything for the rich and the famous.

The singularly beautiful tower on the planet - the Eiffel Tower - evokes images and memories of the city besides providing a breathtaking view of the city.

The great grand daddy of all museums, the Louvre, is home to above 300000 works of art including the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo, which are the most prized of Louvre's possessions. Many of the packaged tours feature a visit to the Versailles, a grand and majestic place located west of the city. It shot to fame for being the place of signature of the truce between the Allied and Axis Powers following the WWI in 1919. The renowned Hall of Mirrors is a 250 feet construction of pure glass, chandeliers, statuettes, and casements that offer splendid views of the surrounding lawns.

Another striking feature of Paris is the Rue Cler, a small pedestrian street a short distance from the Eiffel Tower. Drop in at this charming city to get a taste of how romantic your vacation can be. Log on to 123New Year for information on Attractions in Paris.
