The founding stone of "contemporary Japan" was laid by Matthew Calbraith Perry (Commodore of the U.S. Navy) on the 31st day of March, 1854. The seeds of westernization were sowed in the soil of Japan after the "black ships" harbored in the Japanese coastline.
After the bombing of "Hiroshima" and "Nagasaki", political as well as ecological climate of Japan altered. The main islands of Japan from north to south are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu.
