Holidays are days towards which people all over the world look forward to after their strenuous work load. People in the United States are also no exception and there are specific holiday list which is followed in the country.



The holidays in the United States are more or less ruled by the people working in the private sector, as the number of such people is huge.

These are according to a census almost 62% of the total population, thus their decision making powers is much stronger than people working in any other sector. The private sector employee has a regular or typical working week consisting of 40 hours with the weekends off.

The public holidays in the US have been influenced and derived from the various religions, traditions and demography and history; which have all been taken into account  while drawing up a list. There are in fact no national holidays given out in the United States. Rather there is a list of holidays drawn up for the states or local governance and jurisdiction to implement. Some holidays are absolutely mandated while some are not even mentioned.

US Holidays list 202017 is an effort by the group members of 123NewYear to bring to its valued readers a consolidated list with brief descriptions of each celebration, that will help them out to pursue the holidays which are celebrated throughout the year. This will help them in their holiday planning as well as brush up regarding the background of some of the holidays, hitherto unknown.
