The Queen of Swords card portrays a stately woman sitting high on her beautifully carved throne. The Queen has a stern look on her face which warns that it is not easy to deceit her.

In her right hand she holds a large double edged pointed sword that she points at the sky. Her left hand is extended as is she is offering something to others before her. It also indicates that the Queen does not hesitate to turn her thoughts into action.

She wears a crown with butterfly sculpted on it representing that she is a free thinker and possesses sharp intellect. The Angel’s face on the throne indicates that she is in touch with spirituality. There are clouds in the background – representing the sorrows and adversities the Queen has faced.

The blue sky above however brings the positive message that the Queen has managed to rise above the difficult situations to achieve peace, calm and clarity of mind. That her mind soars high above is also represented by the bird flying high up in the sky. This card is all about matriarchal authority, attraction and nurturing.
