The Three of Cups card is all about celebrating the accomplishments of life. Even the background is of a bright blue sky.

The card depicts three young maidens who are seen to be dancing in a circle. They are connected by their arms. This signifies how deeply the ladies are connected emotionally with one another - it depicts the strength of their bond of friendship.

Each of them holds a golden cup in their hand. Their demeanor is of joy and happiness. Their arms are raised as if to toast an accomplishment. Each woman wears a wreath of laurel on head - which further accentuates the victory factor and establishes triumph of some kind.

The wreath is also a symbol of protection, peace and purity - a sign that the blessing of Heaven is upon them. The ground where they stand is covered with fruits and flowers. The fruits symbolize abundance; while the flowers are reminder of good days and gently make one conscious of the beauty of the Universe.

Upright Position: According to numerology, the Number Three is related to fertility and creativity. Traditionally the card says that a matter has been concluded successfully and now it is time to celebrate. It signals that the subject is entering a very sociable phase of life. The card also represents harmony in friendship and relationship.

Reversed Position: Reversed, the card indicates overindulgence. It may also suggest isolation from friends and social circle. It may also indicate that the subject is entering a phase where creativity would elude her/him.
