Minor Arcana – Valet of Swords

The Page of Swords card portrays a young man standing alone in the middle of a terrain. The man holds a sword with both his hands.

The background exudes turbulence. The dark clouds, the trees swaying in the wind – all indicate difficult times. The young man’s hair too gets ruffled in the wind. The water body behind the man is also rough and turbulent. The card airs a general feeling of disturbance, unrest and energy.

Upright Position: This card is all about new ventures, journey, excitement and action. However, what needs to be seen is whether the seeker can keep up to the fast pace that so much of action demands. In a reading the card predicts of a person who is young at heart and full of ideals. She/he is seeking important questions of life – however the person lacks maturity of purpose. The card may also imply new ideas and information. In a relationship, this card may suggest conflict and tension. Simply put, this card stands for ideas and action without much thought about aftermath.

Reversed Position: Reversed, this card is about energy and action too but in a situation where the person has hastily ignored to channelize the energy in the effective way. It may also mean that the person is all about boasting without actual action. It may also suggest that the person either tries too hard to impress or is annoyingly inquisitive. The card says that the person does not have the will, patience or inclination to hear viewpoints of others.
